FREE street chalk drawing event led by artist Tijay Mohammed.

Create temporary art inspired by Adinkra and Uli symbols of West Africa, which adopt the spirit of the human body using basic geometric and abstract shapes, animals, and floral designs. Adinkra and Uli symbols promote healing while capturing joy, love, freedom, hope, pride, beauty, wisdom, strength, leadership, womanhood, and power.

In honor of the ancestors, the event will be held in front of the Enslaved African & Kingsbridge Burial Grounds,

This program is made possible with public funds from the Bronx Council on the Arts through the New York State Council on the Arts, The Laundromat Project, Students uplifting ancestral spaces, Lehman College, 1204 Art LLC
